Breadfruit Stir-Fry recipe


INGREDIENTS:
  • Large breadfruit - 1/2
  • Coconut - 2 tablespoon
  • Oil - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Urad dhal-1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 pod
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - as required
PREPARATION:
  1. Wash and cut the bread fruit into half.
  2. Remove the skin and slice and chop them into small pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds.
    When they splutter, add urad dhal, curry leaves.
  4. Add the bread fruit pieces. Add salt and mix well.
  5. Cook in medium flame sprinkling water as needed.
  6. When the vegetable is cooked, add turmeric powder, cumin powder, chopped garlic and chili powder and mix well.
  7. Then add the grated coconut and mix well.
    Cook in low flame until the spices blend with the bread fruit.
