INGREDIENTS:
- Ivy Gourd - 1 pound
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chili powder - 1 tsp
- Garlic - 2 pods (chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves (few)
PREPARATION:
- Wash the ivy gourds.
- Cut and discard both the edges. Cut them into fine slices.
- In a hot pan, pour oil. Add mustard seeds.
- When it splutters, add curry leaves.
- Add the chopped garlic and saute for a minute.
- Add the sliced ivy gourd. Sprinkle salt and cook it in low flame stirring occasionally.
- When it becomes soft add turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder. Mix well and cook for few more minutes until the ivy gourd gets coated with the spices.
- Serve with rice.
