Neer Dosa recipe


INGREDIENTS:

  • Basmati rice or sona masoori rice - 1 cup
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
PREPARATION:
  1. Soak the rice for 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Drain the water.
  3. Add the rice and coconut to a mixer or blender. Pour 1/2 cup water and grind it into a fine paste.
  4. Transfer to a bowl. Add salt to taste. Add the remaining water gradually and mix well.The batter will be very thin like buttermilk consistency.
  5. Heat a tawa on the stove. Sprinkle 2 drops of oil and spread it with paper towel.
  6. Scoop the batter in a large spoon. Tilt the tawa slightly by holding the handle and pour the batter on it. If there are any holes, fill by pouring little batter there.
  7. Cover with a lid and cook for about 2 minutes.
  8. Slightly lift the sides of the dosa and transfer to a plate.
    This dosa doesn't turn golden brown. It is white and soft and thin.
    Serve with chutney, sambar, chicken or lamb gravy.
