INGREDIENTS:
- Collard greens - 1 bunch
- Onion - 1/2
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chilling powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 pods (chopped)
- Oil - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard - 1/4 teaspoon
- Curry leaves - few
- Salt - as required
- Water
PREPARATION:
- Wash the collard greens.
- Cut and remove the stems. Keep aside.
- Finely chop the leaves. Chop the stems.
- Pour oil in a hot pan. Add mustard seeds. When it splutters add curry leaves.
- Add the chopped collard greens, onion and garlic and mix well. Add salt. Cover and cook in low flame sauteing occasionally. Sprinkle water if needed.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder.
Mix well and let it cook for few minutes until the spices mix with the collard greens. - Serve with rice.
